All-on-4 dental implants supporting a full arch fixed bridge

What is All-on-4?

All-on-4 is a full-arch tooth replacement where four dental implants support a complete bridge of fixed teeth across the whole upper or lower jaw. The implants are placed at angles that maximise the bone you already have, so most patients can have All-on-4 without needing a bone graft first.

The whole arch is fitted on the same day as the implant surgery. You arrive in the morning with failing or missing teeth and walk out that afternoon with a complete fixed set in place. The permanent bridge is fitted a few months later once the implants have fully integrated with the bone.

Is All-on-4 right for me?

All-on-4 is typically the right answer if you:

  • Have lost most or all teeth in one or both arches
  • Wear a full or partial denture you're unhappy with
  • Have failing teeth that won't last much longer (advanced gum disease, multiple root canal failures, severe wear)
  • Want a fixed solution rather than a removable denture
  • Have been told elsewhere you don't have enough bone for traditional implants
  • Want a same-day solution rather than months of being toothless during healing

If you only have a few missing teeth, single or multiple-tooth implants are likely a better-value option.

How your All-on-4 treatment works with us.

01

Free consultation

We assess your bite, your remaining teeth (if any), your gums and the bone availability via examination. Around 45 to 60 minutes.

02

CBCT scan

A 3D scan of your jaw to plan the exact position of each implant.

03

Digital smile design

We design your projected new smile digitally and present it to you for approval.

04

Treatment day

Any failing teeth are extracted, four implants placed at precise angles, and a fixed temporary bridge attached the same day. Around 4 to 6 hours.

05

Healing

Three to six months for the implants to fuse to the bone. You wear the temporary bridge throughout.

06

Final bridge

The temporary is replaced with a custom-made permanent bridge in high-strength materials.

07

Review and aftercare

Routine cleaning visits and check-ups to keep the implants healthy long-term.

The Hacton Dental Care difference.

Same-day teeth, walk out fixed

You arrive in the morning with failing or missing teeth and walk out the same afternoon with a full set of fixed teeth in place. No weeks of dentures while you wait for the implants to heal.

Four implants, full arch

Four precisely-placed implants are enough to support a full bridge of teeth across the whole arch. The angled placement avoids the need for bone grafts in most cases, making All-on-4 possible for many patients who were told they had 'too little bone' for traditional implants elsewhere.

CBCT-planned, every case

Every All-on-4 case is planned from a 3D CBCT scan in our Hornchurch surgery, so every implant is placed at the exact angle and position we planned for.

Same team start to finish

The same clinician designs your case, places the implants, fits the same-day teeth and reviews you throughout. No handoffs.

Replaces dentures permanently

For long-term denture wearers, All-on-4 means no more loose dentures, no more denture adhesive, no more avoiding certain foods. The teeth are fixed in place and feel like your own.

Honest about the alternatives

We will discuss All-on-6, individual implants and overdentures so you can make a fully-informed decision about which treatment is genuinely right for you.

Real patients, real results.

Nervous about a full-arch procedure?

All-on-4 sounds like the biggest treatment we offer, and clinically it is, but in terms of how it feels, the entire procedure is carried out under local anaesthetic and (where helpful) sedation. You'll be comfortable and largely unaware throughout, with breaks built in across the day.

Most patients tell us afterwards that they were prepared for it to be much harder than it actually was. We'll go through every step in detail at the consultation so you know exactly what to expect on treatment day.

All-on-4 questions, answered.

How long do All-on-4 implants last?

The implants typically last 20 years or more, with success rates above 95% at 10 years, while the bridge on top may need replacing every 15 to 20 years.

Will I have any teeth missing during the healing period?

No - that's the whole point of All-on-4. A fixed temporary bridge is attached on the same day as the implants, so you walk out with a complete set of teeth in place.

Is the All-on-4 procedure painful?

The treatment is carried out under local anaesthetic with sedation available, so the procedure itself is painless, with most patients reporting a few days of manageable soreness afterwards.

What if I don't have enough bone for All-on-4?

The angled placement of All-on-4 implants is specifically designed to use the remaining bone you do have, which means it works for many patients who were told elsewhere they would need bone grafts.

How long does the full All-on-4 process take?

The same-day teeth are fitted on day one, and the final permanent bridge is fitted three to six months later once the implants have fully integrated.

Can I eat normally with All-on-4 teeth?

Yes - once fully healed, All-on-4 lets you eat the same range of foods as natural teeth, with the temporary bridge requiring slightly softer foods during the healing phase.

Do you also offer All-on-6 implants?

Yes - in some cases (particularly larger arches or where bone density allows) we recommend six implants for added stability, and we'll discuss this at your consultation.
