Single dental implant with custom crown placed in jaw

What is a single tooth implant?

A single dental implant is a small titanium post placed into your jaw bone where a tooth used to be. Once it's fused to the bone (a process called osseointegration), a custom-made crown is fixed on top, replacing the missing tooth permanently.

Because the implant integrates directly into the bone, it functions like a natural tooth root, supporting the crown without affecting the teeth either side. It's the only restoration we offer that doesn't depend on neighbouring teeth for support.

Is a single tooth implant right for me?

Single implants are typically the best option if you:

  • Have lost a single tooth (commonly after trauma, root canal failure or extraction)
  • Have healthy gums and adequate jaw bone (the CBCT confirms this)
  • Want a permanent fixed replacement that doesn't come out
  • Want to avoid grinding down the neighbouring teeth for a bridge
  • Want a long-term solution rather than a short-term denture

If you have several missing teeth in a row, a multiple-tooth implant bridge is usually a better-value option than a single implant per gap.

The Hacton Dental Care difference.

CBCT-planned, not guessed

Every single implant case at Hacton Dental Care is planned from a 3D cone-beam CT scan in our Hornchurch surgery. The exact position, depth and angle of your implant is mapped before any treatment starts.

Neighbouring teeth left untouched

Unlike a bridge (which requires the two neighbouring teeth to be ground down), a single implant stands alone in the gap. The teeth either side are left exactly as they are.

Custom crown made in our lab

The crown that sits on top of your implant is custom-shaped and shade-matched to your other teeth. The result blends invisibly with your natural smile.

All-inclusive pricing from £2,500

The £2,500 single-implant fee covers your CBCT scan, implant placement, healing abutment, custom crown and all follow-ups. No mid-treatment surprises.

One team, one journey

The same clinician runs your case from consultation through to crown fit. You don't get handed around between specialists.

Long-term written guarantee

Every implant carries a written guarantee, subject to attending your routine reviews and following the aftercare advice.

Nervous about implant surgery?

The most common fear we hear is "will it hurt?". Honestly, the surgery itself is painless because the area is fully numbed throughout, and most patients tell us afterwards it was easier than they expected. Sedation is available for very anxious patients.

The day or two of soreness afterwards is well-managed with standard pain relief, and within a week most patients are back to normal. We'll go through the CBCT findings and the full plan with you before anything proceeds, so there are no surprises on treatment day.

Single implant questions, answered.

How long does a single implant take from start to finish?

A standard single implant takes four to six months from consultation to final crown, with most of that time spent waiting for the implant to fuse to the bone.

Does single implant surgery hurt?

The procedure itself is painless because the area is fully numbed with local anaesthetic, and most patients describe it as easier than the extraction it sometimes follows.

How long do single implants last?

Well-placed, well-maintained single implants typically last 20 years or more, with success rates above 95% at 10 years in the long-term studies.

What if I don't have enough bone for an implant?

Most cases with bone shortage can be solved with a bone graft as part of the implant plan, and we will tell you definitively at your CBCT scan whether this is needed.

Will my crown look natural?

Yes - the crown is custom-made in our lab and shade-matched to your other teeth, so it blends invisibly with your natural smile.

Am I too old for a single implant?

There's no upper age limit for implants - what matters is the health of your gums and adequate jaw bone, both of which we assess at your consultation.

Can I have an implant immediately after a tooth is extracted?

In some cases yes (immediate implant placement), but in others we wait several weeks for the socket to heal first - the CBCT scan and consultation will tell us which.
